Bright Fame Foundation (Amsterdam, the Netherlands)

Objective

To support women working in prostitution in Amsterdam, particularly in the Red Light District, and to help those who wish to build a safer and more sustainable future outside prostitution.

Approach

Bright Fame combines weekly outreach in Amsterdam’s Red Light District with professional social support, individual guidance and a welcoming drop-in centre. By building relationships based on trust and equality, the organisation provides practical and social assistance, job coaching and support for women who want to leave prostitution. Its work also includes outreach to less visible forms of prostitution, language lessons, training, and awareness and prevention activities.

JIP’s contribution to the project

In 2025, JIP Foundation provided a general grant to Bright Fame, contributing to the organisation’s ongoing work with women in and around Amsterdam’s Red Light District. The unrestricted contribution supported Bright Fame in maintaining its outreach, individual assistance and practical support, helping women take steps towards greater independence and new perspectives for the future.
