Objective

Supporting victims of sex trafficking in Northern India.

Millions of girls and young women in India are exploited and abused in the sex industry. For many of them, the prospect of a life in freedom can seem out of reach. IJM works to protect victims, help them escape exploitation and support them in rebuilding their lives.

Approach

Since 2000, International Justice Mission (IJM) has worked alongside local police, courts and social services to combat sex trafficking and protect its victims.

An important part of this work is providing survivors with professional aftercare and trauma support, helping them recover from their experiences and work towards a safe and independent future.

JIP’s contribution to the project

JIP Foundation’s contribution supported IJM in providing specialised trauma care for survivors of sex trafficking and abuse.

The funding helped provide trauma care professionals who regularly visited aftercare facilities, supporting survivors in processing their traumatic experiences and taking steps towards recovery. This support was provided with care, compassion and respect for each individua
